Born in the city of Rio de Janeiro May 8th 1968 to the first Ph.D. in rural sociology of Brazil and of a social worker, Ivan Rossé soon became involved with sociocultural issues. During his childhood, he spent four years in Bogotá (Colombia), three years in Lima (Peru), and two years in Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic).
Back in Brazil, he showed great talent for subjects related to different arts. As a teenager, he traveled with his father to Bahia, Northeastern Brazil. Over there was where he truly began developing his artistic side through caricatures and portraits of social inequalities represented locally. However, only when acquiring knowledge of optical physics, his artistic communication gained maturity and his talent was recognized as successful. A series of paintings called neosurrealistic marked his first artistic phase of profound sociocultural critique. This phase was originated from a personal "traumatic event": the loss of his portfolio. During this period, due to family pressure, the young artist enrolled in the Federal University of Mechanical Engineering and quickly began teaching Mathematics and Physics at schools. While attending College and working as a teacher, he developed a new series of monochromatic paintings (his second artistic phase). Here, he highlighted the "beauty" in proportions, expressions, gestures and forms of male and female bodies, sometimes still using live models.
After receiving his Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at PUC (Pontifical Catholic University), Ivan Rossé renewed his way of tracing and representing the human figure. He returned to the sociocultural theme, but this time with a more acute perception and less aggressiveness. This gave birth to his third artistic phase.
Using his extensive expertise in the arts and scientific knowledge combined with his apparent ability to convey such knowledge, the artist created an audacious method of teaching the arts: The Image Power Method. The artist then opened an art studio and, in no time, started discovering new, promising talent in his students. These, on the other hand, joined his artistic vision. During this period, his paintings gained a colorful tropicality rich in textures, featuring his fourth artistic phase.
Simultaneously, he started the study of sculpture with clay. A great artist was hence reborn into a whole new area - Ivan Rossé was now complete!
Today, he is the first plastic artist to merge three branches of the arts that were, until now, developed separately: Painting, Sculpture and Drawing. His fifth artistic phase is called FUSION. A previously unknown universe unfolds itself... Ivan, amazed with the results, understands that this is only the beginning of the fusion of all arts: Painting, sculpture, drawing, poetry, music, scenic arts, and so on.The artist is currently conducting focus groups meetings to discuss the FUSION Art.
The artist is launched - Ivan Rossé.
